One of the worst things to happen to your day is that it just doesn't get started.
You're got the willpower, you've got the intelligence, you've got all the things you need, but you're lazy… and after a few days all the planning falls flat on it's face.
You've spend days planning for what you need to do, put it down in writing, taken pains to organize everything – then when you need to get it done, you still don't manage to get anything done.
The most irritating part of this is that you spend all day thinking about what was wrong with your plans, improving them, but still fail. And failing sucks.
The Number 1 Reason Why You Don't Get Stuff Done
It's not that you don't want to do the things that you say you want to do. You DO. But you don't have a big enough reason to do them.
Think of this like a 'Cancer-Cure' kind of problem. If you knew that by doing what you've planned to do in the morning – putting in that 2, 4, 6 hours of work – you would cure cancer. Would you do it?
Hell yes!!! you would do it.
Infact if your friends came over to ask you to go out partying with you – you'd say to them, "F*&% off!!! I'm curing cancer."
But when it comes to doing the things that you want to do – you lag behind. You say you'll do this after checking Facebook, hang out with your friends, or even parents.
Just sit around and do nothing.
The Reason Why You Fail
You fail to take action not because there was anything wrong in your planning. You fail because you haven't connected your results to 'Why you want to achieve them'.
Find bigger reasons why you want to do something. The minute you find a bigger reason to do the things that you want to do them, actually doing them will become so much easy.
"If the why is big enough, the how becomes easy."
When you think about a 'why' and you still don't do it, then your reasons for wanting to do it aren't big enough. Your reasons for wanting NOT to do it are bigger.
Think about the things that you want to do in terms of 'The Cancer Cure'. What's the cancer cure for doing the thing that you want to do.
What's something that if you told your friends you were doing this – they would want you to finish it.
So if you want to become a doctor – don't tell yourself, "I have to go to medical school". Say to yourself, "I'm learning how to save the life of a mother who has a 7 year old child and no other family to take care of her".
The better you can improve the promise of results to yourself the easier doing things will be for you.
Here's What You Can Do To Find Out Your BIG Promise
1. Write down all the things that you need to do
2. Figure out what is the most important thing that you have to do.
3. Now write down the reason why you want to do this.
4. Think about this in terms of how you can benefit other people. How you can change the world.
5. Whether you "think" that you can do change the world or not – write this anyway.
Once you've got your big promise write this down and read it.
Read this statement of why you want to do this. This is a reminder for you until you can think about your why even before you think about what you want to do .
This way you'l be thinking about your why – and then doing the things that you need to do.
You will effectively reprogram your mind.
Go ahead and write the list of things that you want to do now. Then write down the most important thing that you have to do.
Don't think about doing this too much – just go ahead and do it. Once you start doing this, and reading the reason why you want to do it everyday – you will keep doing the things that you want to do.
You'll become unstoppable. You friends will wonder where you got all that energy. But the truth will be that the only thing you've changed in your life is created a REAL REASON for doing what you want to do.
Go ahead, and write your reason now. Whatever it is that you want to do. Write it out now, and write why you want to do it.
