I have noted the increasing use of the (sic) word – mostly in press reports by South African journalists who wish to draw derogatory attention to grammatical or spelling errors by politicians and prominent personalities. I think it is childish and patronising- and probably racist too.

  1. Oh no… this (sic) is very important. I use it regularly in response to the racists at I Luv SA. You will find that racist’s spell much worse than anyone else…. or at least that is my experience.

  2. Remember , education is one of the few non racial quantifiers… IQ on the other hand is deeply racist. Its simple, blacks, like whites, must just learn to spell.

    This is a shared burden.
